BLACK BELTS

Achieving your 1st Dan/Poom is a major milestone, but it is just the beginning of a lifelong journey.  Black Belts at Sung Lee Taekwondo now delve deeper into the art of Taekwondo, refining techniques and embracing the philosophy of Taekwondo.  This journey involves mastering advanced forms, teaching others, and embodying the principles of respect, loyalty, integrity, and perseverance.

BENEFITS OF TAEKWONDO FOR
BLACK BELTS

Black belts are the heart of the school. They are expected to be leaders and examples to the other students. They participate in black belt classes, referee trainings, tournaments, and leadership opportunities. Black belts can advance in Instructor Programs if they desire to further their training to become a Certified Instructor. We also offer training in the following Korean martial arts for Advanced Black Belts: Gumdo, Hapkido, and Jang Bong (long staff).

HOW DO THEY PROGRESS?

Students progress through regular promotion tests held at the Main Gym.
Each level they will learn curriculum including patterns, punches and kicks, non contact sparring, and breaking.
Upon passing promotion test, they will be advanced to the next level and learn new curriculum.  As a Black Belt, students will be testing towards their next Dan/Poom.

Students at Sung Lee Taekwondo can participate in programs to motivate them to do well at home, school, and at the dojang.
